Happy Birthday Bob! We appreciate you and all you have done for LSRC. It was a pleasure to celebrate your birthday, especially since it took place in our newly relocated boathouse. We all look forward to seeing you tinkering around the boathouse, teaching Learn-to-Row classes and spending time keeping us safe on a launch very soon.
Boathouse Move
As part of the City of Lake Stevens North Cove Park Phase II Redevelopment Plan our boathouse had to be moved 500' South. The City purchased a lot, poured a concrete slab, and physically moved the boathouse. We completely emptied the entire boathouse in preparation for the move. Once the boathouse is moved and in its new home, we will add electrical, insulation, heat, and an addition which will include a bathroom. We want to thank the City of Lake Stevens for their partnership during this move. Stay tuned for an upcoming re-opening soon!
Inaugural 2021 Combined Practice
We did it again! We had another combined practice today with North Cascades Crew. The first of 2021! We included a 4000m race around the south end of the lake. We used our launches as buoys. We had singles, a double and a quad. Thank you to all the rowers, volunteers, timers and spectators. I’m sure we will do it again very soon.
Halloween Costumed Combined Practice
We had some Halloween fun today with North Cascades Crew in a socially distanced, combined practice that included a 3400 meter race. Some rowers from both clubs dressed up in the Halloween spirit. Coach Melissa was dressed as a pirate, complete with sword, flag and first mate (skeleton with parrot), of course. Other costumes included a bumble bee, super hero, duck, reindeer, and king. Thanks go to the volunteers who manned the launches and kept time. Also, thank you Coach Barb for coordinating this extremely fun event! Happy Halloween!
Thank you Julia
Today we said goodbye (for now) to one of our most dedicated members @juliafran42. Julia is not only a fierce competitor but she has also been an integral part of our club's growth. Thank you Julia for your dedication to our organization. We wish you well on your next adventure! @ Lake Stevens Rowing Club
Combined Practice Race Fun
Since we are missing our chance to race at normally scheduled regattas, we decided to have our own racing fun. While following all State and local health guidelines, we set up our own course using established buoys, grabbed our singles and raced approximately 5200m. We invited North Cascades Crew, who also practices on the lake, to join us. We had so much fun with this event, we may do it again!
Summer Singles
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, LSRC is happy to be back on the water, safely in Singles! Our masters were able to begin practice in June following the Phase 2 guidelines of the State of WA and Snohomish County. We are looking forward to Phase 3 and expanding our summer programs!
LSRC and Row for the Cure
LSRC has participated in the Row for the Cure regatta for many years. It’s not only a great row to get ready for head racing, it is a cause that means so much to many of us. In 2019, our club raised over $10,000 to support breast cancer awareness, early detection and research. By meeting the $10k goal. we received the 20th anniversary Pink Erg. We also took our survivor 8, Pink Panther boat to Gas Works Park for all survivors to sign. Go LSRC!!
Aquafest 2019
LSRC had a great time in our annual Aquafest weekend. From the parade and Try Rowing sessions to the water parade and quadrathon, LSRC enjoyed meeting many from our community and beyond!
Aquafest 2018
Aquafest 2018 was a huge success. We could not have asked for better weather and had a blast meeting so many new faces at the boathouse. Friday was filled with boathouse tours and time on the rowing machines. Saturday we enjoyed team time during the Main Street parade and had 4 boats in the annual water parade. Sunday morning we supported the Aquafest Quadrathon and then hosted our own Learn to Row on Sunday afternoon. Thank you Lake Stevens for making it a great weekend for all!
